Solutions · Scheduling and publishing

For scheduling and publishing tools, and agencies that run their own or their clients' accounts: post with images and video, schedule posts, keep drafts, reply, quote and run polls. Every action is one call, the same price as a read: $0.065 to $0.10 per 1,000.

Each request carries the account's X session (cookie) and a proxy. [X session guide](https://www.twittrapi.com/docs/x-session)

What you can do

## Everything a publishing tool needs

Each line is one endpoint and one call.

- Upload an image

  /client/media

  [Returns a media ID](https://www.twittrapi.com/docs/account-actions/client-media)
- Upload a video

  /client/media/video

Waits for X to process it; check a media ID later with [/client/media/status](https://www.twittrapi.com/docs/account-actions/client-media-status)
- Post, with up to 4 media IDs

  /client/create

[Long posts over 280 characters work too](https://www.twittrapi.com/docs/account-actions/client-create)
- Schedule a post

  /client/create + schedule_time

List with [/client/schedule-overview](https://www.twittrapi.com/docs/account-actions/client-schedule-overview), cancel with [/client/schedule-delete](https://www.twittrapi.com/docs/account-actions/client-schedule-delete)
- Save and list drafts

  /client/drafts/create

  [/client/drafts](https://www.twittrapi.com/docs/account-actions/client-drafts), edit and delete: [Drafts](https://www.twittrapi.com/docs/account-actions#drafts)
- Run a poll

  /client/create + poll

  2 to 4 choices, 5 minutes to 7 days
- Quote a post

  /client/create + quote_url

Your comment above the quoted post
- Post into a community

  /client/create + community_id

  Posts into that community
- Reply, or build a thread

  /client/reply

[Reply to your own last part to continue a thread](https://www.twittrapi.com/docs/account-actions/client-reply)
- Delete a post

  /client/deleteTweet

  [Your own posts only](https://www.twittrapi.com/docs/account-actions/client-deletetweet)

Who can reply (`conversation_control_mode`) and the sensitive-media flag are options of the same calls.

How it works

## One request per action

Every account action is a POST with a JSON body. Next to the action's own fields it carries the account's session cookie (`auth_token` and `ct0`) and the proxy the request to X goes out through. The session goes with each request, so one API key can work for many accounts.

- Keep the same proxy for the same account, in the region it usually logs in from.
- If someone logs out of that session, the cookie stops working; ask for a fresh one.
- With `format=simple` a new post comes back as the same Tweet object the read endpoints return.

[Get the cookie and set up a proxy](https://www.twittrapi.com/docs/x-session)

Use your own account or one you're authorised to manage, and follow [X's rules on automation](https://help.x.com/en/rules-and-policies/x-automation).

Cost

## What publishing costs

A post with one image is two calls: the upload and the post. Account actions cost the same per call as reads. Calls that fail with 400, 407, 408, 409 or a 5xx error are refunded.

FAQ

## Scheduling and publishing questions

**Does X keep the scheduled post, or do I have to send it at the right time?**

X keeps it. /client/create with schedule_time stores the post on the account's own schedule, the same one x.com uses, and X publishes it. You can list and cancel scheduled posts by API. Scheduled posts take text and media; polls, quotes and community posts are posted right away.

**How do I post a thread?**

Post the first tweet, then reply to it with the next part, then reply to that reply, and so on. Each part is one call.

**Can I manage client accounts?**

Yes, with each client's consent: every request carries the session cookie of the account it acts on, plus a proxy. Keep one proxy per account and store each client's cookie like a password.

**Which images and videos work?**

Images: JPEG, PNG or WebP up to 5 MB, GIF up to 15 MB. Videos: MP4 or MOV; the request body is limited to 100 MB, so about 75 MB of video. Files X would refuse get a 400 before anything is sent to X, and that call is refunded.

**Do I need an X developer account?**

No. You need a TwittrAPI key, the X session (cookie) of the account and a proxy. The X session guide shows how to copy the cookie.
