How it works

How the follower count checker works

  1. 01

    Enter the username

With or without @, or paste the profile link.

  2. 02

    Complete the captcha

A few free lookups per day for each visitor.

  3. 03

We ask X for the profile

Our server calls GET /user/by/username/{username}?format=simple. The simple format returns the counts as plain numbers under counts.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do I check how many followers an account has?

Enter the @username or paste the profile link, complete the captcha and press Check. You get the follower count as X reports it right now, plus following, posts, likes, media and how many lists the account is on.

Is the follower count live?

Yes. Each lookup asks X for the current profile. Identical lookups are cached for 10 minutes, so a number can be up to 10 minutes old.

What does the verification type mean?

X reports how an account is verified: Business (gold check), Government (grey check), or a blue check from an X Premium subscription. Accounts without a check show No.

Can I see who follows an account?

Not with this tool. The API lists followers and followings page by page (GET /user/{userId}/followers), including for large accounts.

Can I track follower growth over time?

Call the user endpoint on a schedule and store the counts. At API prices, checking 100 accounts every hour for a month is 72,000 calls.
