Twitter (X) thread reader

Paste a tweet URL and get the author's whole thread as one clean, readable text: no replies, no interface, no sign-in. Copy it, or download it as a Markdown file for notes, docs or an LLM prompt.

Any post of the thread works: the first one, or one from the middle.

Complete the captcha to run the lookup. A few free lookups per day; public accounts only.

The thread appears here as clean text.

How it works

How the thread reader works

  1. 01

Paste a link to any post of the thread

x.com, twitter.com and mobile links all work.

  2. 02

    We load the conversation

Our server calls GET /tweet/{tweetId}?format=simple, which returns the post and its replies as clean JSON. If you linked a post in the middle, it also loads the first post.

  3. 03

    We keep the author's chain

Only the author's posts that reply to each other in the same conversation (conversationId, replyTo), oldest first.

  4. 04

    Copy or download

Plain text, Markdown, or a .md file with the source link.

Need this at scale? Get an API key

Archive threads automatically, feed them to an LLM or analyze whole reply trees: one API call per page of a conversation, with every page available through the cursor.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do I unroll a Twitter thread?

Copy the link of any post in the thread, paste it here and press Unroll. The tool collects the author's own posts of that thread in order and shows them as one text, without replies from other people.

Can I save a thread as Markdown or text?

Yes. Copy it as plain text or Markdown, or download a .md file with a heading, the source link and each post as a paragraph. Images and videos are linked in the Markdown.

Do I need the first tweet of the thread?

No. A link to a post in the middle works too: the tool walks up to the first post of the thread and then down through the author's replies.

Why are some posts missing?

The free tool reads one page of the conversation, which covers most threads. Very long threads, or posts X hides as low quality, may need more pages; the API returns them with a cursor. Deleted posts break the chain.

Does it work for protected accounts?

No. Posts of protected accounts are only visible to their approved followers, so the tool cannot read them.
