FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is TwittrAPI?

A REST API for public Twitter/X data: tweets, profiles, followers, search, communities, lists and trends. We are not affiliated with X Corp.

Do I need an X developer account?

No. The key comes from us (direct account) or from RapidAPI or JojAPI. You never sign up at console.x.com.

What does a call cost?

On a direct account, $0.10 per 1,000 calls, $0.09 for 30 days after a top-up of $100 or more, $0.08 while your top-ups of the last 30 days add up to $500, and $0.065 from $2,000. One call is one HTTP request. A profile lookup returns one profile. A search or timeline call returns one page of results.

Do failed requests cost money?

Calls that fail with 400, 407, 408, 409 or a 5xx error are refunded at once, and 429 is not charged.

Does my balance expire?

No. Unused balance stays on the account.

Can I test before paying?

Yes. Direct accounts get $0.50 of credit at sign-up, which is about 5,000 calls at the standard price. RapidAPI has a free BASIC plan with 75 requests a month.

Can I read protected accounts or private data?

Only public data.

What happens if someone misuses the API?

We only serve public data, and our usage policy forbids spam, harassment, scraping private information and other abuse. If X or anyone else reports misuse, we look into it and stop it, up to closing the account.

How do I pay?

Crypto (USDT or USDC on Polygon, USDT on Tron, or Litecoin) with no fees, +5% bonus credit on Polygon (USDT/USDC). Card for one-time top-ups from $20, VAT included, no card fee, or a monthly card credit you can cancel any time. On RapidAPI and JojAPI you pay the marketplace.

Can I top up automatically?

Yes, by card. Choose a monthly credit of $20, $50, $100, $250 or $500 that is added to your balance every month; cancel any time. Prefer to stay in control? Set a low-balance email in the dashboard: when your balance falls below the amount you pick, you get an email with a link straight to top up.

When should I use the official X API instead?

When you need a direct contract with X. X charges $0.005 per post read, which is $5.00 per 1,000 posts.
